On Saturday September 21 2013, Sutter Health Memorial Medical Centre will be hosting their annual Run and Ride for Cancer Awareness campaign.
This is a special event for the whole family, where you will be given the opportunity to remember and honor all the people in your community whose lives had been touched and inevitably altered by cancer. In addition there will be an exhibition where you will be educated on cancer awareness, early detection, fitness, nutrition, living a healthy lifestyle and cancer support services.
The event started off in 2004, with 204 runners and walkers registered. In 2006 the bike ride portion of the event was added into the mix. In 2008 the Run and Ride for Cancer Awareness became an annual event. Last year more than 1500 entrants took part in the event. Time and Place:

- The event starts at 6 a.m.
- Modesto Junior College, West Campus

•The Run:
- Comprises of a 2 mile and 10 km run or walk and a kids fun run.
- Entry fees: 10 km or 2 mile: $ 30 per adult and $15 for children under 12 years.
• The Ride:
- The ride consists of 12 mile, 25 mile and 61 mile rides.
- Entry fees: All rides $50 per adult and $ 20 for children under 12 years.
• The Run and Ride Combo:
1. This is a combination of the Run and Ride excluding the 61 mile ride.
2. Entry fees: $70 per adult and $30 for children under 12 years.
Even if you do not run or ride you are welcome to come and join the event; to support the participants, let your children enjoy the free activities or just support cancer awareness. There are food and prizes available for all the registered participants.
