The Walk to End Alzheimer's is an annual nationwide event initiated by the voluntary Alzheimer’s Association and held in more than 600 communities all over America. Since 1989, millions of people of all ages and abilities were mobilized to participate in the walk, in such a way contributing and calling for an end to this sixth-leading fatal disease in our country. Today this nation’s fundraising event is the largest one to provide support, care, awareness and research to fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
The Association is thrilled to encourage all communities to combine their efforts and dedication, to become participants of the walk, thus giving people with Alzheimer’s a chance to live out. All participants are required to undergo the procedure of official fee-free registration. Along with this procedure all walkers are expected to demonstrate their commitment to raising funds by donating some money themselves. The donor-supported Alzheimer's Association allocates these funds to advance research studies, to help American families by providing and enhancing educational programs, to support patients with Alzheimer's disease.
