Description | The Marches of Wales have played key roles at critical moments in British history. In 1460, Richard, 3rd Duke of York claimed the crown of England. He did so not as a scion of the House of York but based on his Mortimer descent and his title as Earl of March. Medieval Historian Matt Lewis will chart the career of this fascinating man who increasingly based himself at Ludlow in the Marches. Understanding York sheds new light on the Wars of the Roses and the importance of Ludlow to Yorkist kings and their Tudor descendants. Matt Lewis is a highly respected Historian specialising in Medieval History, he is Chair of the Richard III Society and co-host of Dan Snow’s History Hit’s ‘Gone Medieval’ Podcast. Please note this event includes a glass of fizz on arrival and light platter supper after Matt's talk. To purchase your ticket: https://www.tanners-wines.co.uk/tanners-... |
