Description | The Echo Theater Company presents a profoundly poignant, empathic and hopeful new play about human connection by MacArthur Foundation “Genius Grant” recipient Samuel D. Hunter. Welcome to Clarkston, Washington, where Jake and Chris meet working the night shift at Costco. Jake, a middle-class, educated new hire who’s a distant relative of explorer William Clark, has fled his privileged life in Connecticut after being diagnosed with a serious illness. Chris, a would-be writer with a meth-addicted mom, is stuck in what he fears is a dead-end life in a dead-end town. Their tentative attraction develops into something much deeper and more complicated in this delicate, intimate new play. Sept. 13 thru Oct. 21: Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 4 p.m., Mondays at 8 p.m.; Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays: $34; all Monday night performances are Pay-What-You-Want.
