Description | The old market town of Shrewsbury has a long and fascinating past, and at the heart of one of its it’s oldest streets, Wyle Cop, is Tanners Wine Merchants. This unique building dates to the 14th Century and has seen many changes over the years yet architecturally remains enchantingly unaltered. As one of the oldest secular buildings in Shrewsbury there is a wealth of history within these walls. As Tanners headquarters, this wonderful time capsule is still a-buzz with people and the day to day running of a business. Our guests will be greeted with a glass of Tanners Cava before commencing a tour of the cellars, passageway, and the many rooms of this charming Wyle Cop property. Hear the old stories, see the location of Fezziwig’s Party in the 1984 adaptation of A Christmas Carol starring George C Scott. Learn what the building was before Tanners arrived here and the purposes it has served throughout it many years it's residency, right up to the present day. We look forward to showing you around and sharing a piece of Tanners history. To purchase your ticket: https://www.tanners-wines.co.uk/tanners-... |
