Description | San Benito, TX.-- Former San Antonio Spurs NBA Champion Bruce Bowen will visit Cross Church in San Benito on Sunday, June 19th in honor of Father’s Day at the 9 a.m. Spanish, 11 a.m. English and 1 p.m. Bilingual church services. Bruce Bowen spent 14 years in the NBA. In 2000, Bruce signed with the San Antonio Spurs, beginning his illustrious eight-year relationship where he would establish himself as one of the NBA’s best defenders and perimeter shooters. When announcing his retirement in San Antonio at the age of 38, he said “It’s not how you start but how you finish.†Bruce’s career has been very successful; he is a three-time NBA champion, a leader and great community activist. Bruce is currently an active member of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas. He has spoken to audiences at churches regarding his life experiences as an NBA player and the impact that his faith has made on him personally. Cross Church, is non-denominational and multicultural church with over 21 years of serving countless families across south Texas. The church continues to be a resource to the community offering youth, family and community oriented services. Its mission is to Help People Cross over from Sin and Death to New Life in Christ.
