Description | Ramblewood's Camp is set up for children ages 7 to 12 years old. Children will have an opportunity to be surrounded by horse activities plus a variety of summer fun, such as water activities, hiking, crafts and games. No previous horse experience is necessary for the beginner camp. Campers will learn the basics of riding and have many opportunities to ride (weather permitting). Campers will also learn about horse care through riding, fun and educational activities surrounding the horses. They will learn about what is involved in caring and being around horses everyday. They will cover such things as nutrition, anatomy, breeds, equipment, and responsibilities in owning a horse. All riders are expected to wear certified riding helmets, long pants, and appropriate riding boots. Bring a change of clothes. Some of the other activities of the day will include water fun, nature hikes, crafts and of course making snacks for campers and their horses. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, chilled water and a packed lunch. Additional drinks and snacks will be provided throughout the day. 9 AM to 3 PM Cost is $300 per week per camper. Each camper will receive a t-shirt. Contact Betsy Klenk at 717.858.6660 Applications can be found at the tack shop. |
