Description | Contact: New York State Museum Phone:518-474-5877 Website: http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/represent/ The Museum's newest exhibition, REPRESENT: Contemporary Native American Art, is now open in Crossroads Gallery. The exhibition features a variety of artwork created by Native American artists in New York State. Pictured at right are three cornhusk dolls created by Antoinette Scott (Seneca, Deer Clan). "I am truly glad that I took the time to learn from my grandmother the importance of the Iroquois-Seneca Cornhusk Doll," said Scott. "It has a great message of vanity and being humble that I like to live and share with others who want to learn." Check out the online feature for REPRESENT for more information about the artwork and the artists. |
